Privacy Policy

PlainProfit ("the app", "we") is a Shopify app operated by Ionize (support@plainprofit.app). It computes profit & loss reporting for the merchant who installs it. This policy describes exactly what data the app touches, because "exactly" is the point of the product.
What we collect
When you install PlainProfit, we access and store, for your store only:
- Order-level financial aggregates: order id, order number, date, order totals (gross, discounts, refunds, shipping, taxes), transaction fees, and financial status.
- Line-item facts: product/variant reference, quantity, and line value.
- Product cost data: variant unit costs from your Shopify catalog, plus any costs you enter or import.
- Data you enter: expenses, ad-spend entries, and settings.
What we never collect
We never request, query, or store any customer personal data — no names, no email addresses, no phone numbers, no shipping or billing addresses. The app's API queries contain no customer fields at all. Your customers are invisible to us, by design.
How we use it
Solely to compute and display your profit & loss reports and exports, inside your Shopify admin. We do not sell data, share it with third parties for marketing, train models on it, or use it for anything other than showing you your own numbers.
Where it lives
Data is stored encrypted at rest on our hosting providers (Fly.io — application, Neon — database), transmitted only over TLS. Access tokens are encrypted.
Retention & deletion
- Uninstall: when you uninstall the app, Shopify sends us a deletion request and all your store's data is permanently deleted within 30 days (in practice: promptly on receipt of Shopify's
shop/redactwebhook). - GDPR requests: customer data requests and customer redaction requests receive an accurate response — we retain order-level financial aggregates that contain no personal data fields, and we have nothing customer-identifying to return or redact.
- You may also email support@plainprofit.app at any time to request deletion.
Changes
Material changes to this policy will be reflected on this page with a new "Last updated" date before they take effect.
